
Julia Duggan

Julia hungers for her next story. She specializes in covering the Arts and Entertainment industry with a sub specialization of covering music. Her music degrees allow Julia to communicate effectively with artists and composers creating eye catching quotes. Her work is published nationally and internationally with a wide range of topics including music, theater, movies, sports, food, breaking news, laws, crime and nature.
Julia has two articles that she holds close to hear heart. One title "All Musicians Should Learn to Juggle" published in September 2019 is her first internationally published piece. It covers in detail about the benefits of juggling for flute players as well as an intro for learning to juggle. The other "Sydney McLaughlin is 'Our Hometown Olympian and We are Proud of That!" This piece covered a Tack and Field Olympian representing the U.S. from a perspective of a small but proud town. This piece made the front page of both The Courier News and The Home News Tribune. The article traveled its way in other newspapers that share content with The Courier News and Home News Tribune and reached a national audience.
To date Julia has published over 100 articles in various journalism publications. 15 of those articles made the front page and over 40 articles have reached a national or international audiences. Julia graduated The College of New Jersey with a double major. Her degrees are Journalism and Professional Writing and B.A. in Music. Currently Julia is working on her Masters in Music Performance and will graduate in 2024.
In undergrad Julia was mentored by Emelie Lounsberry, Kim Pearson, Dr. Donna Shaw, and Kathleen Webber. Julia is extremely grateful to have learned the secrets of journalism from them.
